When Humanities and Social Sciences Meet Science and Tech Education: An Open Discussion with the Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts and The Center for Higher Education Research

In this salon, we invited two researchers from the Center for Higher Education Research to join our SOF colleagues for an open discussion on "Humanities and Social Sciences Education for Science and Engineering Students". How the notion of creativity is measured in the fields of Science and Engineering and those of Humanities and Social Sciences? How do students of Science and Engineering majors benefit from Humanities and Social Sciences? How, on a theoretical level, does Higher Education research view the disciplinary division between Science and Engineering, and Humanities and Social Sciences? How can interdisciplinarity become possible? Meanwhile, we also invite students to join our discussion, providing us with an invaluable perspective in contrast to those of the researchers and teachers, and sharing their learning experiences, takeaways and thoughts.
