Hui CHEN is a specialist in Chinese Archaeology. He received his Ph.D. in History from Wuhan University and was in a Joint Ph.D. program in the Department of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. Hui Chen’s research primarily focuses on Bronze Age China. He has extensive archeological fieldwork experience, participated in a number of archaeological projects, and published in prestigious journals including Archaeology and Jianghan Archaeology. Chen’s recent research interests include the Sinicization process in the middle reaches area of the Yangtze River during the Xia and Shang periods, the production technology and distribution of bronze and pottery, the phenomenon of intentional object fragmentation in archaeology, and cultural contact patterns.
