Gao Bin received his Ph.D. in Chinese studies from National University of Singapore and M.A. in classical Chinese literature from Nankai University. His research interest includes on traditional Chinese poetry and song lyric, classical Chinese literary thought, ancient Chinese philology and Chinese studies overseas. Now he is focusing on the study of song lyric’s aesthetic changes in late Ming and early Qing, rare Chinese books in Southeast Asian countries and sinologists’ study on emotions in classical Chinese literature. Dr. Gao won the Tan Ean Kiam Chinese Philosophy Award granted by Singapore Confucius Cultural Fund in 2017. He published the Catalogue of Pre-Republican Chinese Books at the National University of Singapore Libraries, several academic articles and creative writings in traditional poetry rhyme. Dr. Gao devotes himself to improve the study of classical Chinese literature in international perspective and apply the academic method in domestic and overseas into his research.
